If you use MyFitnessPal to help you track your weight, fitness and diet activity, you should be aware that the company experienced a breach in data security, and information on its 150 million users has been accessed by an unknown party.  MyFitnessPal became aware of the February breach on March 25, 2018 and is now advising users to change their passwords.

“Not only should users change their MyFitnessPal password, but if they use that password or something similar to that password to log in to other accounts, they should change those passwords as well,” said CSLEA Foundation Chair Kenny Ehrman.

MyFitnessPal reports usernames, email addresses and hashed passwords were accessed.  The company said it does not use Social Security numbers or Driver License numbers and payment card data was not affected because it is collected and processed separately.
