Tip of the Week - January 13, 2016 - Sign Your Lottery Tickets The Moment You Purchase Them
/With the record setting Powerball Lottery jackpot growing beyond one BILLION dollars this week, many people are buying tickets, and for some, this may be the very first time. That's what happens when such excitement abounds. Word to the wise, be sure to sign the back of your tickets as soon as you purchase them.
"Print your name and sign your ticket in the spaces provided," said California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) Foundation Chairman Kenny Ehrman. "The California State Lottery recommends that you don't mark your ticket in any other way, meaning don't mark the front of your ticket as you are checking your numbers. Also keep your tickets in a very safe place. Do not leave them in your car or thrown on top of your desk at work."
