CSLEA Foundation Joins State Controller & Assemblymember At Fraud Prevention Town Hall
/LOS ANGELES - On Friday, October 30, 2015, California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) Foundation Chairperson Kenny Ehrman will speak to senior citizens at a town hall focusing on identity theft and fraud prevention. The town hall is sponsored by State Controller Betty Yee and Assemblymember Reggie Jones-Sawyer.
"In my 21 years of law enforcement, I would have to say, giving senior citizens the tools they need to protect themselves from fraud is one of the more fulfilling things I do," said Ehrman. "They are intelligent, wonderful, trustingcitizens who just need to be reminded it is okay to say no, okay not to open their doors. In addition, I am able to update them on how scammers are targeting seniors and steps they can take to build a bigger wall of protection between them and the bad guys. "
The October 30th seminar will address identity theft, financial and rental scams, legal fraudand other schemes scammers are using to rip off senior citizens. In addition to the CSLEA Foundation's participation, attendees will hear from the State Bar of California, California Department Business Oversight, and Los Angeles County Consumer & Business Affairs.
